Due to the 1944 cleanup of this site as a training exercise , this is a "micro" site. Less than 10% of the wreckage remains at the site. These small pieces of wing skin along the "cartwheel" path are typical of what is left. |

Two WW II veterans, that assisted the Army with body removal in 1941, went on a day hike and relocated this site for me after my many searches had come up empty. They left this piece of fuselage skin in a bush to make sure "the young fella" would be able to locate the site. |

A twisted seat back frame and the seat pan of a flight deck seat. All four crew were ejected on impact, thrown clear of the fire. |
